The second edition of the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is scheduled for this Saturday June 29 at Entebbe Club’s par-71 golf course.
As golf enthusiasts anticipate to partake in the event, it promises to be a day filled with competition, camaraderie, and sportsmanship at East Africa’s oldest golf facility.
This event holds special significance for the title sponsors- I&M Bank, as it coincides with their golden jubilee celebrations that are slated for tomorrow- Friday June 28th, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The second round of the series will see the competition adopting yet another fun, but challenging play format- the ‘Tee for Me’ format.
The Tee for me format will see players pair up, and while each player will tee off at each hole, the pair will be allowed to switch balls for their second shot.
The team score will be determined by the net score, with each pair designating six holes for individual play, where the worse net score will be considered.
Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank, expressed her anticipation for this edition, and highlighted its significance towards making the game of golf more enjoyable, and as a uniting factor.
“The I&M Bank Katogo series is a highlight of our dedication towards nurturing a dynamic golfing culture in the country. Building upon the success of our first event of 2024, we’re looking forward to another exciting day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. This edition will be a special tribute to our lead sponsor- I&M Bank, who are celebrating 50 years of offering unmatched financial services to East Africa as a region. Therefore, I would like to caution all golfers and guests, to come ready for a 19th hole like never before. Happy 50th anniversary I&M Bank,’’ Mukasa said.
